Erin's dad grew up in Boston so he's visited for over 50 years and when family vacation time rolled around, he took his family to Cape. Lindsay, Erin's sister, giggled during her speech about the long drive from St. Louis in the back of the station wagon while Neil Diamond played on the radio. She talked about the amazing memories they had growing up playing on the cool beach. And now they add Erin and Darren's wedding day to the list unforgettable moments.
Thank you Erin, Darren and Cosgrove family for inviting us to document and fall in love with Cape. We felt like another guest, like family, celebrate Erin and Darren. Thank you, we are so blessed.

Ceremony and Reception: Ocean Edge Resort
I know about their high school courtship, their engagement in Jamaica where Andrew surprise Kim with all their family, and the dueling piano's at the upcoming wedding reception.
All without ever meeting them until the most anticipated engagement session of the year.
You see, Kim is the lovely sister to my dear friend Stephanie.
And I'm a bit overwhelmed with honor and excitement to show these and photograph Kim and Andrew's wedding day.

The next images are some of my favorite ever. Kim you are perfectly gorgeous and Stephanie, you two really do look alike. Just saying.

I am just utterly, and completely without words after seeing my little sister through your eyes. I feel so blessed to have seen you photograph so many people that I love in my life, but this.....this just takes it for me! xxxxxx

I squealed when Richard Photo Lab finished Jon and Jessica's session. As the files uploaded one by one my excitement grew and caught Hughes' attention. He nosed his way to the computer and started asking...
"Are they real?" "Are they of this World?" I smiled because they are fair questions.
"yes and yes, they do look quite dreamy, don't they?"

Absolutely gorgeous! That field is AMAZING. Love it all, but the first & last shots? Perfection.
(08.24.10 @ 10:45 AM)Clary! These images are magical. That's really the best way to describe it! Beautiful work!

(08.25.10 @ 11:24 AM)Clary, I've just seen the day after pictures. My baby girl found the love of her life and the photographer that captured that love on film forever. What a lucky, blessed girl. I love the one of Jon picking her up in the field, showing off the dress and also the last one of them together, they're all wonderful. Thanks for doing such a fantastic job for them.

(08.30.10 @ 12:48 PM)

Is this the "glasses couple" you spoke of way back when? If you had any hesitation about that, I don't see why. Great photos!
(08.23.10 @ 06:45 AM)Yes John! More curiosity...I couldn't recall pictures of a bride or even couple with glasses:)
They are awesome!
(08.23.10 @ 08:20 AM)CLARY! You are truly a magician and an alchemist! My guess is that the 3 straight hours of nervous giggling ended up being a much bigger problem than the glasses. :) YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR! I LOVE THEM!
(08.23.10 @ 09:18 AM)i LOVE the shot of them running across the street- how Richard Avedon!
(08.23.10 @ 09:57 AM)Love this shoot!! Doesn't even look like St. Louis, and the couple is having so much fun!
(08.23.10 @ 12:17 PM)
Thank you for having Travis and I all the way out to Milwaukee to celebrate your day with you! Congratulations and rock on Tom Petty!!

ZOMG - the dress I was thisclose to purchasing had that exact same neckline. Swoon!

(08.20.10 @ 07:40 AM)Clary, you are the most amazing thing that could have happened to my sister for her wedding. Amanda had a vision that was allllllllll about the details. Not only did you find the details you accentuated them perfectly. I told Amanda to call me right when the pictures went up and Amanda called me over joyed to the point of tears...at 6 A.M. this morning. You are the best, most talented, amazing photographer EVER!!!!!!!
Thomas

A small peek into an engagement session from Chicago. The first is so breathtaking and peaceful. And yes, in the middle of Chicago I find a meadow tucked in the beautiful sky-rises of the city for Caroline and Chris' engagement session. What can I say, I'm a rebel:)Now lets discuss the fact that ClaryPhoto has traveled Planes, Trains and Automobiles (seriously we traveled by all three) this past month to photograph amazing people in Milwaukee, Cape Cod and Chicago. It was quite the adventure and there is so much to show you from these weddings and sessions I can hardly stand it. But I'm super excited to be home!! This week two awesome events take place around here, the very exciting St. Louis Shoot Party and our 5 year old son starting Kindergarten.
Hughes is starting Kindergarten. Wow. Can you believe it?!!
If you're there on Wednesday, say hi if I've never met and to everyone I do know...give me a big hug and be nice on the questions;)
Clary I bet you'll be great on Wednesday! Best wishes to Hughes on starting K-G :)
(08.17.10 @ 12:03 AM)I can't wait to see you Wednesday!!
My little Riley started Kindergarten today...it sure does tug at a momma's heart strings, doesn't it??
Good luck with everything, your stuff is just beautiful My son starts Kindergarten Monday and I don't know where the time went.
(08.18.10 @ 05:53 PM)
Jessica and Jon did everything themselves for their wedding day. Everything! And it was all perfect and so them. I adore it all, epesically the Mr. and Mrs.'s.
What do I mean by everything?
The Flowers
The Cupcakes
The Paper Goods
The DJing
all The Details, check out their guest suitcase.
Even the music Jessica walked down the aisle was composed by Jon. Swooning.

Clary, these are beautiful! The photos are beautiful (amazing posing!), the bride and groom stunning. The details are oh so lovely, I wish I were a guest at that wedding!
Clary, your bridal party poses are so creative and the sun (I think?) coming through in the dancing pictures is incredible! Love your work!
(08.12.10 @ 10:06 PM)These are fabulous. If I were to renew my vows, I would want my wedding to be just like this one :)

(08.13.10 @ 08:22 AM)ust incredible--it's like they chose details of their wedding just to make it look photogenic in pictures!!! I love the relaxed, genuine feel to all of the pictures--these last two are gorgeous--I mean really, where in the heck do you find such beautiful people, weddings and locations? I swear that grass/greenery can't be real!
And kudos to them for doing so much of the wedding themselves--it seems to have had a very personal touch, and it's gorgeous!
(08.13.10 @ 08:52 AM)Clary, these are awesome! My favorite is the one of the wedding party in the background, doing their thing, with the bride and groom obliviously staring at each other...so cool! Can't wait for you to photograph us soon!
(08.13.10 @ 09:31 AM)Wow. Absolutely stunning. The wedding was gorgeous; what an incredible job they did with all the details. And Clary, as usual, you blow me away.

(08.13.10 @ 02:35 PM)Um. Swoon is right!!!!!! Darling color palette. Darling couple. Magazine quality!!!
(08.13.10 @ 03:54 PM)Clary, It was a pleasure to meet you and watch you work. The pictures are all fabulous. One just better than the last. I love the black and white on the church steps with the rice coming down all around, the dancing and the after shots. They're all so special. I don't know where Jess and Jon found you, I'm so glad they did.
(08.13.10 @ 05:39 PM)OMG I L.O.V.E them, their wedding, the photography, absolutely stunning!!

(08.16.10 @ 11:07 PM)I was a guest at Jon & Jess' wedding, and am in awe of the pictures. They are gorgeous, you've captured the love that just shines between them! I especially love the one in the meadow with the sun setting behind them. This was truly a wonderful wedding, I have never felt so positive about two people getting married before. The relaxed, no-posing pictures are them, just having a blast & celebrating their love. I can't wait to see the rest. Wonderful job!
(08.17.10 @ 06:57 PM)what a beautiful wedding! i loved everything about it, specially the dress! stunning :) gray and yellow has to be the best combination ever!!

(09.01.10 @ 10:24 PM)
Billy and Kim met at the elemantary school where they both teach. The pastor that married them gave one of the best services I've heard and gave words of advice...from a group of grade schoolers that gave ansers on "what love is?". It was so much fun and so appropriate; I'm sharing two of my favorites. One simply funny and the other, the plain truth on love.
Love is...
A girl putting on perfume and a boy putting on cologne. They go eat together and stare into each others eyes.
Love is...
Knowing everything about one another, the good and bad, but still wanting to be around them, good and bad.
gorgeous clary! the b&w are so dreamy! specially on the slide # 4 :)
(08.09.10 @ 04:15 PM)Clary - thank you so much for making art out of our wedding day. I never realized how green my eyes were until I saw these pictures! Thanks again - we love them!
(08.10.10 @ 02:40 PM)Kim you are more than welcome!! The shots of you and Billy in the grass are simply heavenly and WOW to your eyes. They are beautiful!
(08.13.10 @ 12:24 AM)Once again, some amazing pictures of a beautiful wedding!!! She does have very pretty eyes, but the pictures of when they are looking at each other and you can see the love in their eyes - those are really beautiful!
(08.18.10 @ 12:07 PM)On The North Shore our daily adventure was finding a new beach each day. There was a slue of surfing competitions and beauty so all of it was very exciting. At Turtle Bay Beach we made our station of towels, a Frisbee and camera. Bus after bus load tourist arrived in their Hawaiian tee shirts, tennis shoes and new cameras purchased just for their "dream vacation". They stayed on the rocks and took two shots of the turtles playing in the water. Then got back on the bus.
I wanted to stop each and every one of them. Make them take their shoes off, lay in the sand, let the sun turn their skin red while enjoying the way the clouds and water made such an amazing show of blues. Because they missed it.
I'm not patronizing the Hawaiian wearing, bus touring people because I'm one of them. I show up for vacation with my new swimming attire, sunglasses and camera empty of memory space waiting to be filled with "memories".
This vacation I challenged myself by just taking one roll of film and my last treasured pack of Polaroid 600 to force a limit. 26 shots only.
It was perfect. Hughes' new freckles appearing on his nose, his wonder on how exactly God fit the sound of the ocean inside a sea shell, Jettie falling asleep in my arms covered in sand that looked like sugar and how sweet it was she only collected the purple shells. The favorites from the 26 shots create small tangents to these vivid moments.

Great Memories for us, I hope the kids remember it too!
(08.04.10 @ 11:19 PM)This is a beautiful post Clary...and a great reminder to not "rush" through a vacation but to sit back and soak in every sweet memory.
(08.05.10 @ 08:51 AM)It could be all the pregnancy hormones, but this post made me cry. What a beautiful concept, Clary. And it's true, you may not have hundreds of shots from this vacation, but just looking through the treasured shots you did capture will bring you back to the happiness shared on your trip. You really made me think on this one :)

(08.12.10 @ 10:21 PM)Oh Clary, these are so fantastic. It seems like, as adults, we're always drawn to a chosen handful of shots in our baby albums, aren't we? I have a feeling these will be a few that have that pull for your little ones :)
